Taipei, Taiwan – 2026-01-19
Professional secure chip and solution provider iMQ Technology Inc. and Uniband Electronic Corporation (UBEC) today announced a strategic partnership to integrate iMQ Technology’s dedicated security hardware SQ7131 into UBEC’s UZ8900 433 MHz RF IC module. This collaboration delivers enhanced cryptographic security solutions for next-generation wireless applications, spanning medical devices, secure remote controllers, Zigbee networks, smart grids, and Matter-enabled IoT devices.
As wireless threats continue to evolve, the integrated IoT TPM addresses critical requirements for secure OTA (Over-the-Air) communication integrity and device identity authentication. UBEC’s UZ8900 is a top-tier Sub-GHz RF transceiver, renowned for its reliable communication performance, flexible modulation schemes, and robust MAC support. By integrating iMQ’s SQ7131 security ASIC solution, which complies with SESIP and PSA Level 3 standards, this IoT security module delivers enterprise-grade protection. It features a true random number generator (TRNG) and hardware cryptographic engines supporting AES-128/256, ECC-256/384, and SHA-256. These capabilities enable both symmetric and asymmetric authentication and authorization, while incorporating hardware-level anti-tamper and side-channel attack protection, as well as secure key storage mechanisms. With Secure Boot and Secure OTA update configurations, devices maintain an end-to-end root of trust throughout their entire product lifecycle.
This partnership further advances secure wireless connectivity across diverse application scenarios, including medical devices requiring high levels of sensitive data protection and secure communication integrity; secure remote access applications with enhanced anti-cloning authentication; encrypted Zigbee networks for smart lighting, sensors, smart grids, and home automation; and the Matter IoT ecosystem, which enables interoperable and secure device pairing and message transmission. With built-in support for Zigbee and Matter communication frameworks based on IEEE 802.15.4, this collaboration accelerates the deployment of trusted IoT security solutions in both consumer and industrial environments.
“Security is no longer optional; it is the key cornerstone of the next wave of wireless applications.” said Bo Cheng, CEO of iMQ. “Integrating the SESIP & PSA-certified SQ7131 security component into UBEC’s UZ8900 enables our partners to achieve robust cryptographic protection without sacrificing performance.”
“UBEC is committed to advancing RF solutions that combine high efficiency with high security.” added, the VP of UBEC. “This collaboration leverages our combined strengths to bring versatile, highly secure wireless connectivity to the market more rapidly.”
