Chairman – Dr. Charles Hsu
Dr. Charles Hsu founded iMQ Technology in December 2010 and has served as its Chairman since inception. Under his leadership, iMQ established a close technical collaboration with Toshiba Corporation of Japan.
Before founding iMQ Technology, Dr. Hsu established eMemory Technology in 2000, where he served as CEO. He led a team dedicated to developing cutting-edge and accessible embedded non-volatile memory technologies. Under his leadership, eMemory received numerous domestic and international awards for technological innovation and became the world’s largest provider of embedded non-volatile memory (eNVM) silicon intellectual property. In 2009, He was appointed Chairman of eMemory Technology.
Dr. Hsu began his professional career in 1987 as a researcher at the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center in New York, USA. In 1992, he returned to Taiwan at the invitation of his alma mater, National Tsing Hua University (NTHU), where he served as a professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering. Concurrently, he held the positions of Director of the Science Research Center and the Incubation Center. In 1998, he was appointed Director of the Institute of Electronics Engineering at NTHU.
Dr. Hsu holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from National Tsing Hua University and earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1987. He holds over 200 semiconductor-related patents and has published more than 120 academic papers in the field. He was the recipient of the Outstanding Research Award from the National Science and Technology Council in both 1996 and 1998 for his significant contributions to semiconductor research.
Chief Executive Officer – Mr. Bo Cheng
Mr. Bo Cheng joined iMQ Technology in 2017 and currently serves as the company's CEO.
Prior to joining iMQ Technology, Mr. Cheng held executive positions in the semiconductor industry for over a decade. He served as President of Asia-Pacific for Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing (CSM) in Singapore and subsequently as President of Asia for GlobalFoundries, with a combined tenure of 12 years. Following this, he joined Hong Kong-based AppoTech as a senior advisor to the President.
Mr. Cheng brings over 30 years of professional experience, with deep expertise in semiconductor business development and marketing. He also has extensive knowledge of wafer fabrication operations and global foundry industry. Since joining iMQ, he has been leading the company’s strategic expansion into the encrypted microcontroller unit (MCU) market.
Mr. Cheng holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Feng Chia University in Taiwan and a master’s degree in Computer Engineering from San Jose State University in California, USA.
