iMQ and Kneron Collaborate to Raise the Bar for Security by Presenting 3D AI Smart Lock Solution to AI Edge-Computing Applications

Hsinchu, Taiwan, May 14, 2021 -- iMQ Technology Inc., a leading MCU and Security IC provider, and Kneron Inc., a leading AI IP and SoC solutions provider, jointly announced 3D AI Smart Lock Solution to accelerate the implementation of 3D AI Lightweight Facial Recognition Solution and Silicon-to-System Security System Technology for AI edge-computing applications.

Utilizing a high performance and low power KL520 AI processor along with highly optimized 3D AI Lightweight Facial Recognition algorithm, Kneron is enabling a powerful and cost-effective 3D facial recognition solution to AIoT applications. The solution provides as high security quality and accuracy level as the structure light solution with just one-third of structure light system cost. Kneron’s 3D AI Lightweight solution uses regular RGB and NIR cameras which make it very compact in size and flexible in camera position. It also pass 3D mask test to further level up the security standard for facial recognition applications that against potential threats such as terrorism, fraudulent transactions, and identity theft.

iMQ’s innovative security chipset: SQ7615 and SQ7103 facilitate 3D AI Smart Lock Solution security level further by providing a root-of-trust silicon and a series of chain-of-trust security system implementations. Starting from system boot-up, the security chipset enables a trust-executable-environment for the system by performing secure boot and authentication process. It protects system integrity, safeguards the code, and prevents unauthorized access to AI algorithms from security breach. The chipset stores secret keys, sensitive files and biometric data (such as face or finger prints) in a safety vault that has a strong anti-tamper design to ensure the confidential data is not exposed or alternated by unauthorized 3rd parties. From device to device and from edge to the cloud, the security chipset protect connections and ensure all data transactions are secure and private to prevent a wide range of attacks.

“The cooperation we announced today represents our next important milestone in catapulting iMQ’s Silicon-to-System security innovation into AI edge-computing industries,” said Bo Cheng, President of iMQ.
