iMQ Technology Unveils SQ7191 : A PUF-Based Secure Element for Unyielding Security Trust

Taipei, Taiwan – 2025-05-29 – iMQ Technology, a leading Security IC and MCU innovator, today proudly announced the launch of its PUF-based Secure Element SQ7191, a breakthrough solution that leverages Physical Unclonable Function (PUF) technology to delivery unbreakable hardware-level security across IoT, automotive, industrial, and mobile platforms.

At its core, the SQ7191 exploits the silicon’s inherent physical variations to generate cryptographic keys on demand—keys that are never stored and cannot be duplicated. This PUF-driven approach creates an immutable hardware “root of trust,” inherently resilient to cloning, extraction, and invasive attacks. The PUF demonstrates strong randomness with a 50% Hamming Weight, uniqueness with a normalized Hamming Distance centered at 0.5, and proven reliability test results.

“As security threats grow more sophisticated, conventional key-storage solutions are increasingly vulnerable to extraction and cloning,” said Bo Cheng, CEO of iMQ. “With SQ7191’s PUF-driven key generation and robust tamper resistance, we’re redefining device authentication and lifecycle security.”

In addition to its PUF foundation, the SQ7191 integrates a NIST FIPS 140-3 Entropy Source Validation (ESV) certified entropy source for high-quality random number and secure key generation. It also includes CAVP-certified cryptographic algorithms to ensure industry standard compliance and interoperability. The launch of the SQ7191 underscores iMQ’s commitment to chip-to-cloud trust, empowering customers to embed uncompromising security at the silicon level.

The SQ7191 expands and enhances iMQ’s growing portfolio of secure solutions—including the SQ710x, SQ713x, SQ7705, and HQS600xE— delivering scalable, chip-to-cloud security for the connected world.
