iMQ Supports Developers to Attain IEC60730-1 Class B Standard

Date:2022/12/09

iMQ Technology has released a self-test and diagnostic program that complies with IEC60730-1 Class B and supports SQ7615, SQ7653 and MQ6825 products to meet IEC 60730 B safety specifications. This program provides Class B self-test functions: including PC, GPR, SRAM, CLOCK and Flash test diagnostic items. Users can integrate the self-test program into the terminal application as needed to accelerate development schedules and further ensure the hardware and software safety of embedded devices. Class B safety standards apply to most home appliances, including washing machines, refrigerators, ovens and stoves. To ensure the safety of product operation, home appliance manufacturers must follow Class B specifications to design products.

The IEC60730 safety standard specification formulated by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is a globally universal safety standard that ensures the safe operation of embedded device hardware and software through various tests and diagnostic methods defined by it. IEC60730 specifies safety and reliability standards for the operation of home, commercial, and industrial electronic equipment to protect users from harm caused by equipment damage. The standard can be divided into three categories:

  • Class A:Not intended to be relied upon for the safety of the equipment.
  • Class B:To prevent unsafe operation of the controlled equipment.
  • Class C:To prevent special hazards.
